ON THE SUBJECT OF

Acting

CREATE has been Nasir’s favorite word for as long as he can remember.

The idea of making something born of your imagination out of nothing has always been a thing of dreams to him. To Nasir, there is nothing more thrilling than a blank canvas–literally and metaphorically–and it’s with this thrill to create and collaborate that he approaches every project.

Nasir’s mission as an actor is to bring his truest humanity to every performance but from his unique perspective as a voice from a community that has long gone unheard. This mission can be realized by collaborating with new age creatives to tell fresh, unique stories intended to elevate and highlight the beauty and the ugly of the many communities left under- or unrepresented in the industry. It is also realized by bringing Nasir’s unique perspective from his intersectional identity to roles in which he may not fit the traditional expectations.

Nasir is here to disrupt the long held limiting beliefs of what a brown man can be.

ON THE SUBJECT OF

Design

Before finding his way into music and theatre,
Nasir was a born visual artist.

As a child, Nasir notoriously carried around his sketchbooks everywhere from school to the mall to the mosque to family gatherings. To young Nasir, that sketchbook was magical, and it was a part of him. He loved drawing characters and imaging whole worlds and journeys surrounding them.

Today, he finds that magic in graphic design. Nasir is an up-and-coming freelance graphic designer based in NYC. His work has included various projects from logos and brand identity to marketing and web design. Nasir’s process is very collaborative and he can work within a diverse range of styles.

Nasir is open for freelance contracts and commissions and has a wide array of offerings in design service packages.
